Not much was really know about Otto Rohwedder until he became famous. It's somewhat a mystery. No one really knows where he came from mush of his background.

We know that he was from Iowa. There are 2 different things that he is said to have done. He was either a jeweler who owned his own store or a salesman.

His machine was first used in Battle Creek, Michigan. He said it would go stale faster than normal bread. So he tried everything. When I say everything, I mean everything. He even tried hat pins. Then he wrapped it in plastic.

That's when companies realized that they could put their logos on the wrapping. The most famous bread maker of all times is Wonder Bread.

When they discovered this the bread began to sell, and Otto finally started to make some money on his machine.
