Otto's machine did have an effect on the inventions of the future. There were many of them. Some of them we use everyday.

The first one is the toaster. A man named Charles Strife invented a spring loaded toaster that you would push down, heat the coils, toast the bread, and spring back up. When you cut the bread yourself you didn't always get a small enough piece of bread so it was awkward.

When Otto made his machine people began to see the idea behind the toaster. That's when it started to make sense and really began to boom.

Another one is PB&J. Peanut butter was initially made for people with no teeth. They did this because it was easy to chew and lots of nutritional value.

This isn't really an inventions but it somewhat is. After his invention the saying that I'm sure you have all herd was thought up. "It's the best thing since sliced bread." As one man said , "Sliced bread, the symbol of inventiveness in conversation ("best thing since...."), stands as the great example.(10)
