Baking bread was taking to long. It took an entire day without doing anything else to just make bread. Millions of women were just getting annoyed with baking bread then having to cut it after your done.

Otto thought he would help the common house wife and make money while he was at it. He started a revolution and he was helping out a culture too.

Women didn't have jobs. Sure they could have been nurses, teachers, or secretaries but that's about it. With Otto's invention he would be famous and help out this culture of woman.
